Join us for the 2018 Alamo Colleges District Convocation

Please join us for this year’s Convocation at San Antonio College- McAllister Auditorium on August 20th from 8:00 a.m. – 11: 15 a.m. The theme will be Level Up: Elevating Our Students to Excel in the 21st Century World. The focus of this year’s convocation will be on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

Keynote Speakers

Mr. Richard Reeves
reeves_headshot_cropped2018Richard Reeves is a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution, where he co-directs the Center on Children and Families. Richard writes for a wide range of publications, including the Atlantic, National Affairs, Democracy Journal, the Wall Street Journal, and the New York Times. He is the author of Dream Hoarders(Brookings Press, 2017), and John Stuart Mill – Victorian Firebrand, an intellectual biography of the British liberal philosopher and politician.

The first 25 people to sign up for Mr. Reeves’ session will receive a free copy of his book, “Dream Hoarders.”

Dr. Tia Brown-McNair
McNair200_0Dr. Tia Brown McNair is the Vice President in the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Student Success at Association of American Colleges and Universities (AAC&U) in Washington, DC.  She oversees both funded projects and AAC&U’s continuing programs on equity, inclusive excellence, high-impact educational practices, and student success, including AAC&U’s Network for Academic Renewal series of yearly working conferences.

Breakout Sessions
